Driver Arrested After Ridgewood Rear-Ender

Ridgewood police arrested the driver of a sedan that slammed into the back of a Jeep mid-Friday afternoon.

The motorist failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody after his Toyota Camry rear-ended a Cherokee in the 300 block of Linwood Avenue near Collingwood Place in Ridgewood around 3:15 p.m. Feb. 2.

No injuries were reported.The Camry got the worst of the collision. It was removed on a flatbed tow truck. The Jeep sustained only moderate damage and was driven from the scene.Village firefighters tended to a crash-related fluid spill.
